Choose the message for each request.
Which creative can rotate alternatives, advance a known listener through a sequence, or evaluate a condition after dynamic records and fields have been resolved.
Choose a mode
| Mode | Use it for | Key input |
|---|---|---|
| Rotate | Weighted distribution across enabled creatives. | Enabled state and weight per creative. |
| Sequence | A defined message progression for the same listener. | Order, repeats, completion behavior, stable user ID. |
| Conditional | Selecting a creative from request, time, or resolved data. | Conditions, mappings, and a default creative. |
Rotate
- Choose Rotate.
- Enable only creatives approved for delivery.
- Set a positive weight for each enabled creative.
- Save and simulate enough selections to verify all intended creatives can appear.
Weights express relative share, not a guaranteed order. A creative with weight 2 has twice the relative allocation of a creative with weight 1, subject to the delivery implementation and sample size.
Sequence
- Choose Sequence.
- Arrange creatives in the required order.
- Set how many times each should repeat.
- Choose what happens when the sequence completes, such as remaining on the last creative.
- Confirm that requests supply a stable
user_id.
Without a stable identity, Delivery cannot reliably remember the listener's position. Define lifecycle expectations when a user is anonymous, changes device, or should restart the sequence.
Conditional
Conditional mode maps named values or expression results to creatives. It offers three authoring paths:
- Recipes — apply a predefined business pattern.
- AI — describe the strategy and review the proposed rule.
- Manual — edit the deterministic expression and mapping directly.
Apply a recipe
For a daypart campaign, choose the Time of day recipe. It creates values such as morning, afternoon, evening, and night.
- Apply the recipe.
- Map each value to an approved creative.
- Select a default creative.
- Simulate every daypart and the default.
- Confirm the relevant time zone used by the request or delivery environment.
Configure with AI
Describe the business outcome and available signals. Review the returned expression, values, and mappings before applying it. AI assists configuration; the saved deterministic rule remains the authority.
- State the fallback explicitly.
- Name exact input fields.
- Avoid ambiguous concepts such as “nearby” without a threshold.
- Test the rule manually after applying it.
Conditions can use the chosen record
Which record runs before Conditional creative selection. A creative condition can therefore use the chosen POI, event, property, score, or computed field. Keep the dependency visible in naming and test the record and creative together.
Default creative
Always choose a complete, approved default. It is used when no value maps, required data is absent, or a condition produces no recognized outcome.
Test matrix
- Each enabled Rotate creative is reachable.
- Sequence starts, repeats, advances, and completes correctly.
- Each Conditional value maps to the intended creative.
- Boundary and time-zone cases choose correctly.
- Missing request/record data reaches the approved default.
- Renaming or removing a creative has not left stale mappings.
